What kind of information do I need to send to S&T engineers when my trackers don't work?

To ensure efficient assistance from our S&T technical team, please provide the following information when requesting support: Clearly describe the issue you're experiencing. Include device information such as the model name, IMEI number, and firmware version. Attach a picture depicting the tracker's wiring connections. Share the configuration file related to the tracker. Provide terminal logs for a comprehensive overview. Upon receiving your request, our engineers will promptly examine the tracker's behaviour and follow up with any additional questions or clarifications needed.

Why does my battery drain faster when I'm in areas without signal or underground?

Accepted Answer

When the GPS tracker is in an area without a signal or underground, it has to work harder to establish and maintain a connection with GPS satellites. In these situations, the device may increase its power consumption as it tries to acquire a signal. The lack of a clear line of sight to satellites or the interference caused by being underground can make it challenging for the GPS tracker to get accurate location information. As a result, the device may continuously search for a signal, leading to increased battery drain.

Will the GPS tracker drain the battery of the vehicle?

Using a S&T tracker will not significantly drain your vehicle's battery, as they are designed to operate efficiently and consume minimal power. Regularly maintaining your vehicle's battery health is also a good practice to avoid any unexpected issues.

What if somebody tampers the GPS device?

Depending on your tracker configuration, a corresponding report will be generated on the server.

Question 6

Are all S&T trackers waterproof?

Accepted Answer

The only trackers that boast waterproof capabilities are the UW1, UT1, and UA1 models.

Engine immobilizer doesn’t work

Accepted Answer

An immobilizer might not function properly due to several reasons, such as a faulty relay, incorrect settings, or poor wiring. If you need assistance, please furnish the S&T technical support team with the necessary information. Clearly describe the issue with the immobilizer and share detailed settings using the command AT&V. Enable AT$MODPT=1 to access payload data and include comprehensive logs from the tracker's terminal. Additionally, submit clear photographs of your setup, highlighting key connections for a thorough analysis.

What is the IMEI ?

IMEI is a unique 15-digit number assigned to every device, acting as its fingerprint. This number helps identify and distinguish each device. In cases where the S&T support team asks for the IMEI number of the specific device you need assistance with, you can find this information on the back of the tracker or by executing the "AT$IMEI" and "ATI" commands.

Question 9

The time is not correct on the tracking, how can I adjust it?

Accepted Answer

There could be a problem with the GPS signal in the area where you are testing the device, such as a weak or no satellite signal. This can prevent the device from obtaining accurate GPS time. You can refer to the AT$SETTIME command in the Protocol Document to optimize the time settings.
